"Why isn't this lamp working?" You grumbled as you fiddled with the light switch.
"Maybe it's because it isn't plugged in." Arthur chuckled. Your eyes ran down the cord to find that the end was not plugged into the wall outlet.
"Well that would explain a lot..." You mumbled and bent over to plug in the lamp.
"So why are you taking photos of me?" Arthur shifted in his seat and caught a quick glance of your butt.
"Because my assignment this week is to take portrait photos of a beautiful face and an unusual face." You replied as you adjusted the lamps surrounding him, trying to find the right lighting.
"R-really, who was the other person you photographed?"
"Francis."
"Oh good, for a moment I thought I was the unusual one!" Arthur chuckled.
You giggled and stepped back to decide if you liked the lighting. "Alright!"
"So how should I pose?"
"Just act natural... Rest your chin on your fist or something." You began to snap some photos of your friend. "Sheesh Artie, loosen up a bit, will ya? And smile!"
Arthur shot you a fake smile, filled with sarcasm.
"Oh come on, ya big baby! Show me a GENUINE smile-Please~"
Arthur chuckled and you were able to catch it on your camera. "So, what's with the sudden interest in photography?"
"Well, it seemed pretty fun and it was either Photography Class or a foreign language." You kept snapping photos, sometimes messing around and taking close ups of his eyebrows. "And who knows, maybe I have an undiscovered talent!"
Arthur chuckled again and you were able to capture more photos of his gorgeous smile. Other people rarely saw a genuine smile from Artie, but he always smiled for you. "Ya know, for being English you have beautiful teeth, Artie."
Arthur's cheeks turned pink slightly. "Stupid stereotypes! It isn't a uniquely British trait, you know!"
"Don't get your panties in a twist! It was a joke! But I like that anger! It's really sexy, show me some more of that!"' You began snapping tons of photos.
Now Arthurs face was redder than a ripe juicy strawberry! "This is ridiculous! Do you have the shots you need yet?"
You completely ignored when you heard a familiar song begin on the radio. "Artie could you please turn up the volume on the radio?" You squealed.
Arthur sighed but did as you asked. You got an amazing shot of him with the radio. "You fell for The Beatles too, huh?"
"Well, they're no Elvis but they have a wonderful sound!" You smiled and began to sing and dance to the song. "Twist and shout~"
"Let me see that bloody camera of yours." Arthur chuckled and gently grabbed the camera from you. He began snapping photos of you dancing around the living room.
"Give it here." You giggled and took the camera from him. You turned on the timer and set it on the dresser.
"Come on!" You grabbed Arthur's hands and began to dance in the middle of the living room.
"_______, I'm not much of a dancer." Arthur tried pulling away but you held on to him tight.
"Aw, come on! You need to learn to have some fun once and a while!" Just then you heard the click of the camera. "I was trying to get a photo of us dancing!" You pouted and went to get your camera.
"Oh... Well, put the timer back on and I promise to dance this time."
"Alright~" You said as you adjusted the camera and scurried back to Arthur in the living room. This time he grabbed your hand and your waist.
"Boy, I was just dancing the jive-what dance are you thinking?" You asked, trying to hide the blush that was creeping onto your cheeks.
"The waltz, it's the only dance I know." He laughed nervously.
"Um, ok." You said and rested your head on his chest. You heard the camera click but the two of you continued dancing.
"Your cologne smells nice." You said, breaking the silence between you.
"Oh... Uh, t-thank you." He cleared his throat. "And Uh... You smell like cupcakes-it's lovely."
You giggled and he twirled you around. When he spun you back your chests were touching and your faces were so close you had barely two inches of air between them.
Arthur cleared his throat. "I-I Uh, I'll come back to see the photos once they're developed.
You let go of his hand and took a step back. "Y-yeah! Thank you so much for posing for me!"
"Anytime."
~~~~~~~
You finished putting the last curler in your hair and went to check on your photographs. They were hanging in your office with all the lights off but they were dry and developed now. As you were taking them down you admired the photos you and Arthur had taken.
"Golly~" You sighed. He really was handsome in your eyes. Even though the photos were black and white, you could see his sparkling emerald eyes looking back at you. As you flipped through the pictures you came across the pictures of you and Artie dancing. You didn't want to admit it but you loved the feeling of being so close to him. He was so comforting and made you feel safe. Not to mention his cologne smelt delicious; it was sweet but had a small bitterness like tea.
"________, are you home?" A familiar voice woke you from your day dream. You scooped up all of the photos and scurried to the living room to find Arthur standing near the front door.
"Hey Artie!" You greeted him with a warm smile. "Take a seat on the sofa, I'll make some tea and we can look at the photos!"
Arthur chuckled softly to himself as he watched you run into the kitchen. 'I wonder if she knows her hair is still in rollers.' he thought. A minute or two later you returned to the living room with your stack of photos, a tea pot and a couple of tea cups. You cozied up beside Artie on the sofa and poured him a cup of tea.
"This one's my favorite of you." You smiled and handed him the photo of him fiddling with the radio.
"Wow, that turned out fantastic!" He smiled. The two of you shared laughs as you flipped through all of your silly photos.
"You truly have a gift, _______." Arthur said softly as he looked at the photo of you and him dancing the waltz.
"Thank you." Your face heated up.
"And that is why I want to give you this..." Arthur pulled a black case with a strap on it from behind his back.
"Artie..." You gently grabbed the case and opened it to find a brand new camera sitting inside. "Arthur! Why did y--"
"Well I thought you might really have a talent and you do so, I thought having a new camera would compliment your talent more than your dinosaur of a camera." He chuckled.
"Arthur thank you so much!" You pulled him into a hug and squeezed him tightly.
"Don't mention it, love." He said softly in your ear, which sent shivers down your spine. You gently pulled away and held his arms.
"Artie, c-can I tell you something? Promise not to hate me after I tell you!"
"Y-yes, what is it?"
"I-Uh... I have feelings... Like strong feelings... F-for you. I love you, Artie."
Arthur looked at you, speechless then let out an almost released sounding laugh and pulled you into a hug. "_______, I love you too. I have for a while now."
"R-really? How come you didn't tell me?"
"For the same reason you haven't told me till now; I didn't want to make things awkward if you didn't feel the same way." he pulled away from the hug, only to pull you into a passionate kiss. After a moment you pulled away for air and stared into each others eyes.
"S-so... Now what?" You asked.
"Um... W-would you like some more tea?" He blushed and raised the tea pot.
You giggled and held up your tea cup. "Thank you, Artie."
