Baby Floppy Eared Bunny
'I hope he's home and not out at dinner or something...' You thought as you knocked on your best friend, Arthurs, front door. Moments later the door gently opened, revealing Arthur.
"________, what a pleasant surprise! Come in!" He greeted you with a warm smile.
"Happy Birthday!" You exclaimed as you entered his home, hands hidden behind your back. Usually when you came to visit Arthur you'd immediately give him a hug-it annoyed him but you did it anyway. But since you were holding his birthday present behind your back you couldn't hug him.
"Thank you..." He said, looking at you skeptically. "What's behind your back?"
"Your present~~~" You giggled.
"________, you didn't have to get---"
"Yes I did! You're my best friend and I love you! Ya know how you said it was kinda lonely around the house without Alfy here?"
"Well, I wouldn't say it's lonely--"
"Just agree with me! It makes the present more meaningful!"
"Um, ok... I suppose it's rather quiet now that he's gone."
"Weeellll~I got you a little friend!" You smiled and revealed what you were hiding. In your hands was a little, fluffy, white floppy eared bunny with brown spots on his nose and ears.
"Oh, ________, you didn't--"
"Yes I did!" You squealed. "Isn't he just the bees knees? He reminds me of you!" You happily handed over the sweet rabbit to his new owner.
"Well hello, little chap." He smiled as he looked at his new, baby bunny. "You're a cute little thing, aren't you?" Arthur gently rubbed the bunnies head. The bunny closed his eyes in pure bliss.
"Whatcha gonna name him?" You asked.
"Hmm... How about William? After Prince William." He suggested.
"That sounds like a perfect name! Oo! His nickname can be Little Prince!" You smiled.
Arthur chuckled. "Thank you so much, _______. He's wonderful."
"Don't mention it! I'll buy you food and a cage and everything you need!"
"No, no, no! I'll buy all of that, you've done so much already!"
"Then at least let me buy him some carrots."
"Only on one condition."
"You join William and me for dinner tonight." He held up William to his cheek and put on his charming smile. This was a picture perfect moment.
"Well how can I say no to those faces!?" You giggled. "That reminds me! I have one more birthday surprise for you!" Arthur began to protest but you ignored him and quickly scurried to retrieve his surprise from your car. You had baked cupcakes to celebrate Arties birthday! As a joke you put little Justin Beiber decorations on them. Whenever a Justin Beiber song came on the radio Arthur would go on and on about how his music was nothing compared to the punk rock he used to play "back in the day" and how he always got all the hot babes and how Justin Beiber sounds like a girl.
When you ran back into the house Arthur was no longer standing in the hallway by the front door. He was now in the kitchen, sitting at the kitchen table, feeding William baby carrots. You stood quietly watching him for a moment. 'SO FLIPPIN' CUTE!!!' you mentally squealed.
"You don't say much, do you?" Arthur said quietly to William. (He didn't know you were there) "Not like Flying Mint Bunny, I can never get her to shut up." He chuckled softly. "You know
_______ was right when she said it was rather lonely around here. It'd be much less lonely if she moved in with me. First I need to man-up and tell her how I feel
Wouldn't it be nice, William? Just you, ________ and I
Like a family."
Blush quickly ate up your cheeks and your heart felt like it was trying to fly away. 'He likes me? Like, 'LIKES' me, likes me?' You quickly shook the thought from your head and stepped back, then stepped forward again to make it look like you had just walked through the doorway to the kitchen.
"I'm back with your surprise!" You announced, trying to forget about what you heard. Arthur jumped slightly, startled by your entrance.
"O-oh! Are those cupcakes?" He asked. You sat the plate of cupcakes onto the kitchen table.
"Yessir!" You smiled. Arthur laughed when he saw the Justin Beiber decorations.
"You think you're quite funny, don't you?"
"Yes!" You laughed. "Now, since it is your birthday, you get to decide; Do you want dinner first or dessert?"
"Well, why don't we just eat the cupcakes for dinner?" Arthur grinned.
"Oo~ Look who's the dare devil today!" You giggled and sat beside him.
Arthur chuckled. "What can I say? I'm a natural born rebel."
You laughed and took the plastic wrap off of the cupcakes. "Do you want vanilla or chocolate?"
"Chocolate, of course." You handed him a chocolate JB cupcake and grabbed yourself a (choco/vanilla) cupcake.
"Do you think we should let Little Prince have a bite?" You asked as you looked over at his adorable, little bunny face.
"I don't think cupcakes are good for bunnies." Arthur replied.
"But I feel bad that we're leaving him out and making him eat stupid vegetables." You pouted.
"That's what bunnies eat." He chuckled. "If it makes you feel better, I'll bake him a carrot cake tomorrow."
"Actually, that makes me feel worse." You mumbled quietly to yourself.
"Oh nothing! I was just saying that you're a very sweet bunny daddy." (Nice save!)
Arthur smiled at you warmly, then looked at William. "It's a shame he doesn't have a mother though
" You started nervously. "I could be his mama
Arthurs cheeks lit up bright pink and he looked at you with a confused expression on his face.
"I heard you talking to William
I thought what you said was really sweet."
"O-oh!" His face grew into a dark red color. "W-well I-I
"Arthur, do you like me? Like, more than friends?" You asked gently.
Arthur sighed and looked you straight in the eye. "I've been in love with you for quite some time now
I was just too much of a coward to tell you."
"Well, you said it now. I think that you're very brave." You smiled.
"So, do you feel the same way?"
"Does this answer your question?" You quickly leaned over and gave him a big kiss on the lips. When you pulled away, Arthur had the most hilarious look of amazement on his face.
"That was the best birthday I've ever gotten!" Arthur sputtered out.
You giggled and pulled him into a hug. "I love you, Artie. Happy birthday."
"I love you too, poppet." He smiled.
When you looked separated from your hug, you noticed that William was nibbling on your cupcake.
And they lived happily ever after!
